Background: Insulin resistance is proposed as a causative factor of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) in the general population. Reports on NAFLD in type 1 diabetes (T1D) are increasing , but whether insulin resistance is linked to NAFLD in this population needs elucidation.
